Srinagar: Several petitions filed against Article 35-A concerning property rights act in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to come up for hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday morning.
A team of State government led by Law Minister Abdul Haq Khan has already reached Delhi to persuade the petitioners to withdraw their petitions and take pleas for dismissal of the petitions against Article 35-A during the course of hearing in the Supreme Court.
Awami National Conference leader Muzafar Shah as prominent member of a Civil Society Group in Kashmir has reached Delhi to join non-governmental efforts for withdrawal or quashment of the petitions filed against Article 35-A.
Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Karra who has been accepted as a private party in the matter has also reached Delhi to persue the case in the Supreme Court.
When contacted Law Minister Abdul Haq Khan said: “i am in Delhi along with top officials of the law department to pursue the matter.
Meanwhile sources said that a team of Kashmir High Court Bar Association comprising of some top lawyers of the Kashmir wing of the High court are also camping in Delhi to vehemently pursue the case on Article 35-A coming up for hearing tomorrow morning before the Supreme Court tomorrow morning.
