Gunmen Shot Dead Woman, Non-local Man In South Kashmir

SrinagarA woman and a non-local man were killed by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir on Sunday,

A woman was killed and another injured after unidentified gunmen fired upon them at Seer village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Sources said that a woman identified as Yasmeena Jan D/O Gh Rasool Bhat , resident of Khanmoh Srinagar, was killed while as another lady Ruby Jan wife of Mohammad Shafi Wagay of Seer Jagir Tral was critically injured , when unknown gunmen opened fire on them at Seer Jagir Village of Tral in South Kashmir.

Sources said that both the ladies were washing utensils when unknown gunmen fired, injuring both of them critically.

Both the ladies were shifted to SDH Tral where Yasmeena succumbed to her injuries , while as Ruby was reffered to Srinagar in a critical condition.

Family sources have said that Yasmeena was a guest at Sister’s’ home in Seer village.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, unidentified gunmen shot dead a non-local vendor in Arwani area of Anantnag district.

A police official that the gunmen fired upon one Shakir Ahmad, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, at Arwani in Anantnag district. He said the slain was critically injured and died enroute hospital.

The official said that the slain was working in Kashmir since last many years and was presently selling snacks. Government forces have been rushed to the attack spot to ascertain further details, the official added.

Director General of Police, SP Vaid while confirming the incident said that they have started an investigation into the matter.
