GurezA massive blaze that engulfed Kilshey village of Gurez valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipore district reduced nearly half of the village to ashes after almost 68 structures were gutted in the wee hours of Saturday.
From school to the Masjid including residential houses as well as the cowsheds were razed to ground by the devastating fire.
The reasons behind the fire incident was being ascertained, officials informed.
The blaze as per the officials gutted sixty-eight structures including 35 residential houses, 10 non residential houses, 10 cowsheds, one Masjid, Government School and ICDS Office building.
The massive fire has rendered dozens of families homeless.
Fire broke out in the wee hours today from a residential house in the village. Within no time, the fire engulfed whole Kilshey village, officials said, adding that the intensity of the blaze was such that it gutted 68 structures in a short span of time.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Sajad Hussain said that the fire was brought under control and no injury or loss of life was reported during the incident.
He said that the fire tenders from district headquarter rushed to the spot immediately to douse off the fire.
