BandiporeForest Protection Force (FPF) seized two trucks loaded with firewood near Ajar area of Bandipora district here on Tuesday.
The two trucks bearing registration number JK 02 9581 and JK02 AA0571 loaded with firewood of different species were seized near ajar area by a team of Forest Protection Force.
According to the KNS correspondent Nasir Khuehami, both the trucks were coming from Serinder Kudara forests for a politically influential family of Malangam were stopped near Ajar Check post asked for the legal documents, they failed to produce the same; Later FPF party seized both the trucks, Joint Director FPF Shabir Ahmad Bhat said.
Meanwhile locals who assembled near Range office demanded Strict action against the culprits involved in looting of Green Gold Forest, added that timber smugglers had been felling trees with the active support of forest officials especially in Khuehama Range. (KNS)
