SrinagarIn connection with Disaster Risk Reduction Day, a function organized by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in Collaboration with State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRP) was held at Govermet Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh here Monday.
On the Occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Abid Rashid Shah was the Chief Guest and Director Disaster Management Aamir Ali was the Guest of Honour. Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Deputy CEO Srinagar, DY SP SDRF, Principal, Staff & Students of the school and other concerned officers were present on this occasion.
The DC Srinagar said that a comprehensive school safety programme has been initiated by the DDMA to cover all the Schools in the district so that School Disaster Management Plans should be prepared accordingly besides students be imparted training in first aid, fire fighting, search and rescue operations.
Later, students and staff were imparted training by the experts from SDRF besides mock drill was also held. More than 200 students participated in the training and mock drill.
