Srinagar: The frontal organizations Mahila Congress & Youth Congress of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Saturday held protest demonstration against the rising incidents of braid chopping at various places in the Valley and described it as a deliberate attempt to create fear psychosis among the people.
The braid chopping is being carried out to create a fear psychosis among the common people on the part of forces aiming to create an atmosphere of uncertainty in the Valley to serve their vested interests, they said.
The workers of both frontal organizations held strong protests demonstrations at M.A. Road and Regal Chowk of busy City Centre of Srinagar and sought immediate end to braid chopping, which is on the rise due to the failure of State Govt.
Blaming both State and Centre Govt for failing ensure security to the people they warned the ruling dispensation of serious consequences in case the harassment of people is not stopped. They expressed disappointment over the failure of the State Govt to contain these unfortunate incidents.
They also expressed surprise over the silence maintained by Chief Minister on braid chopping. Seeking clarity from the Govt they said this is astonishing that State Govt has not been able to unfold the mystery behind the incident, which is not only unfortunate, but a matter of serious concern.
They strongly urged upon the both State and Centre Govt to Govt to ascertain the actual motive behind braid chopping and ensure stern punishing to person involved in this heinous crime, as the braid chopping is a direct attack on the modesty of the women which will not be tolerated.
