SrinagarState Football Academy (SFA) and Food and Supplies XI played out a 1-1 draw in their premier division fixture of State Football League 2017 played at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said on Thursday.
The tie was a closely contested tie with both teams getting many a scoring opportunity but failing to convert them into goals. There was an early goal though when Altaf Ahmad opened the account for the F&S XI in the 7th minute to have his side infront. State Football Academy with a goal behind upped the ante, but couldnt manage an equalizer as teams went into the half time break with scoreline reading 1-0 in the favour of F&S XI.
The second half saw more urgency from State Football Academy and had many attempts on goalpost but an equalizer came as late as 64th minute through Waseem. There was some aggressive play in search of a winning goal from both the teams but scoreline of 1-1 didnt alter till the end of stipulated 90 minutes. Aneek from SFA was declared as player of the match.
Meanwhile, B-Division league of the ongoing State Football League is already completed with IFC Nowgam winning the title and Noorbagh FC finishing as runners up. The A-Division League has reached to the semi-final stage with Novelty Blue, Jehangir Club, Fort Club Views and Novelty FC qualifying for seminal.
More than 50 percent match of the Super and Premier Division league have been completed till date. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
