SrinagarScores of students of Government polytechnic Gogji Bagh Srinagar on Wednesday held protests against the braid chopping incidents across valley.
Reports said that the students including girls and boys held protests inside the polytechnic campus. They raised slogans against the braid chopping and government for failing to arrest the miscreants.
The protesting students carried banners reading: Stop Braid Chopping, I protest. They later dispersed peacefully.
Pertinently, a number of braid cutting incidents have taken place across Kashmir in the past one month.
Jammu and Kashmir police has formed a special investigation team to crack the cases. However, till date no breakthrough has been possible as, police said, no victim is ready to cooperate with them.
On Tuesday, DGP SP Vaid said that doctors have told the police that majority of the victims are depression and attention seekers.
