ShopianDistrict Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of DIstrict Level Committee constituted for monitoring and evaluation of “Self Help Group of Engineers Scheme”.
Executive Engineers, from Power Development Department , Roads & Buildings, Assistant Commissioner Development, Deputy Director Employment and concerned officers/officials besides two nominated representatives of Self Help Groups attended the meeting. The District Development Commissioner had a detailed review of the implementation of guidelines for Self Help Group of Engineers Scheme and exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that the scheme meets its objectives in all respects.
The DDC directed the Executive Engineers to ensure that the development works are executed through Self Help Group of Engineers as per guidelines laid down in the scheme.He also asked the Rural Development Department to identify the works being conducted through their department and ensure that 30 per cent of these works get done through these groups.
The SHG Groups have also been warned not to further sublet the alloted works else such groups shall face de-registration from the Scheme.
