BudgamMinister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Tuesday convened a meeting to finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of annual Urs of Alamdar-e Kashmir (ra) to be celebrated on October 17.
The representatives of Auqaf Committee of Charar-i-sharief also participated in the meeting.
The Minister was informed that all necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure smooth conduct of annual Urs of Alamdar-e Kashmir (ra). DDC informed the Minister that directions have been passed to FCS&CA department to ensure sufficient supply of all essential commodities including ration, gas, kerosene and sugar for the consumers during Urs days. Besides, PDD has been directed to ensure round the clock power supply along with sufficient backup Gen-sets at the Shrines mosque.
Further, additional arrangements are being put in place for transport of visiting devotees, parking, traffic regulation, water supply, sanitation, medicare etc. To tackle any emergency five additional mobile camps equipped with trained doctor and para medic support are being stationed at identified locations during Urs days. Special squads headed by concerned Tehsildar have also been constituted to check illegal profiteering and hoarding/black marketing in the markets.
Hailing the efforts of District Administration in formulating pro-active plain of arrangements, the Minister said that every effort needs to be made to ensure hassle free pilgrimage to the visiting devotees. He also asked for better coordination between line departments and concerned agencies in ensuring hassle free services to the visiting devotees during Urs days.
