SrinagarJammu Warriors and Srinagar Power Hitters have qualified for the finals of State Cricket Academy Women T-20 Championship, winning their respective semi finals played at Bakhshi Stadium Srinagar on Saturday, a statement from State Cricket Academys media department said.
In the first semi-final of the day, Jammu Warriors beat Womens College MA Road Srinagar by 118 runs in what was a one-sided contest. Powered by Anju Chowdary’s 77 and Ankita Jallas 63, Jammu Warriors amassed a score of 169 for the loss of one wicket in their allotted 20 overs. In reply Womens College MA Road were all out for 51. Anju Chowdary walked away with player of the match award for her stellar batting show.
Srinagar Power Hitters beat Jammu Queens by four wickets in the second semi-final of the day to set up summit clash with Jammu Warriors.
Batting first, Jammu Queens managed a score of 79 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Srinagar Power Hitters managed to chase down the target in 16 overs with four wickets in hand. Rabia was declared woman of the match for her crucial 23.
The final will be played at Bakhshi Stadium, Srinagar on October 9. The tournament-the first of its kind for women cricketers- is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Councils State Cricket Academy.
