SoporeChief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Saturday visited Sopore to personally condole with the family of late Atiqa Bano, the noted educationist and heritage activist, who passed away two days ago.
The Chief Minister described late Atiqa Bano as a crusader for the upliftment and empowerment of women in the State. She said her untiring efforts through Majlis un Nissa to make women in north Kashmir educationally empowered or through the establishment of first of its kind Meeras Mahal at Sopore is a lesson for us to be active and serious in contributing to the society and protection of our heritage, culture and language.
Mehbooba Mufti sat with the members of bereaved family of late Atiqa Bano, offered fateha and prayed for eternal solace to the deceased.
