JammuVigilance Organization (VO) Thursday registered a formal case against the former officials of Revenue Department on the allegations regarding loss to state exchequer worth crores of rupees.
The case vide FIR No. 39/2017 u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt.2006 & Section 120-B RPC at P/S VOJ on 03/09/2017 has been registered against the officials namely Saleem Mohd then Settlement Officer, Sher Singh, then Girdawar Circle Katra and then Patwari Settlement Kunddrorian (Katra).
The former officials in criminal conspiracy and connivance with private beneficiaries had abused their official position, and illegally mutating land u/s 121 of Land Revenue Act at village Kunddrorian, during the year 2010 and evaded Stamp Duty worth crores of rupees.
The revenue officers/ officials did not complete settlement of village Kunddrorian but instead they started to mutate the private land to the occupants under section 121 Land Revenue Act illegally and the same was supposed to be sold and purchased between the seller and buyers through Sale Deeds after depositing proper Stamp Duty.
After scrutiny of the mutation No. 2423 dated 15.04.2010, 2436 dated 03.06.2010, Mutation 2447 dated 21.07.2010, 2461 dated 01.09.2010, 2476 dated 10.12.2010, and Mutation 2464 dated 05.10.2010 of Village Kunddrorian under section 121 of Land Revenue Act, it has been found that the above mentioned Mutations were illegal and attested by the Revenue Officials in connivance with private beneficiaries. The said properties were purchased by the private persons in whose favour the above mutations under section 121 of Land Revenue Act got recorded/attested only to evade stamp duty.
