ShopianDistrict Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Wednesday convened a meeting to review the progress of Model Cluster Village under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP).
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, REW, PDD, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Education Officer and other concerned.
The meeting was informed that under TSP initiatives are being taken to uplift the socio-economic conditions of tribal people. It was given out that various amenities are being provided to the people living in tribal areas of the district which includes Skill development initiatives, formulation of cluster model villages and other basic facilities.
It is pertinent to mention that under Special Central Assistance district Shopian has got the focal attention of state government for development of villages with the predominantly tribal population as Model Cluster Villages replete with all modern amenities. It was given out that four villages namely Amshipora, Saidpora Payen, Chaki Mirzapora and Chaki Shamshipora have been identified to be developed as Model Cluster Villages.
The villages are home to more than two thousand tribal population and Departments like Education, R&B, PHE, Health, Irrigation, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry would be involved in the plan.
DDC impressed upon the departments to take up the works as per approved DPR immediately and there should be no delay or laxity in work execution.
