Srinagar’Joint Resistant Leadership’ accused the government of being behind what it described as ‘shameful act’ of braid chopping saying this was aimed at diverting the attention of people from the ongoing movement of right to self-determination.
JRL, comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik issued a press statement, expressing serious concern over increasing incidents of braid chopping and said that, “in presence of heavy security and under a well thought out ploy, the devilish act is being sponsored to create fear psychosis and a conspiracy is being plotted against sanctity of social legacy”.
Expressing serious concern, it said “for virtues and saintly society of Kashmir, such despicable acts are unacceptable and unbearable”.
JRL while blaming authorities for shielding criminals, said that, reports pouring in from nook and corner of state disclosed and as reported by eyewitness said that, soon as the culprits are nabbed by people, the forces and STF personnel appear at scene and under the cover of firing create scare and escape along with these criminals.
The resistance leadership cautioned govt and asked them to desist from ‘mean tactics of harassing people’, saying that these ‘cowardice acts, mysterious incidents of setting ablaze localities & operation ghost in past neither helped authorities nor peoples attention was diverted from the freedom movement”.
