SrinagarA wreath laying ceremony was held at BSF headquarters Humhama on to pay homage to BSF officer Brij Kishor Yadav, who was killed during the militant attack at BSF camp at Humhama near Srinagar Airport on Tuesday.
The officers from Jammu Kashmir Police, BSF and CRPF were present on the occasion.
Director General BSF, K.K Sharma, Inspector General of Police, Munir Khan led police and security force officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the deceased BSF officer.
His body was later flown to his native village Sahebganj in Jharkhand. The 50-year-old BSF officer, survived by his wife and three children, is the latest in a long list of soldiers from Jharkand to get killed in volatile Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, the three non-local militants killed during a gunfight at Humhama near International Airport were buried last night in district Baramulla, sources said on .
The trio had stormed the BSF camp just outside the airport on Tuesday triggering a gunfight.
Sources said that the deceased were buried in a graveyard in Gantamulla situated along the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway. (CNS)
