Srinagar A wildlife week celebration was held at here at a private school Doon Educational Institute Hokersar, Srinagar to disseminate the importance of wetlands particularly in the State. Students from different educational institutions participated in the programme and highlighted the importance of wetlands and measures to be adopted for their conservation.
Director Disaster Management was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he termed them big flood basins who protect the human being against heavy floods.
Deputy Conservator of Forests/Wildlife warden (Wetlands) Kashmir Division highlighted the measures initiated by the department for the upgradation and conservation of the wetlands under the domain of the department.
