SrinagarMinister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Asiea Naqash Tuesday visited Achan dumping site at Eidgah to assess the functioning of newly installed waste segregator.
While taking stock of the waste segregator, the Minister asked about its structure and mode of work. It was given out that the newly installed machine segregates around 30 tonnes of waste per hour.
She asked the officials to incorporate latest technology of waste management under the already Rs 6.40 crore sanctioned project to keep the city clean.
Naqash also remarked that Government has already initiated to necessary steps for proper dumping of waste in the city.
Later the Minister visited MMC Zakura and Government Womens College, Batpora to take stock of construction work being executed.
She asked the concerned officials to tender out the project of installing elevators in the college to reputed companies. The Minister called on the concerned to ensure the ongoing construction work of the College is completed within stipulated time frame so that classes can be started at the earliest.
Naqash was apprised that two stories of the college have been completed and slab for the third will be laid in next 15 days. The officials informed the Minister that the work is going on in full swing.
