SrinagarThe paramedic employees working in Health and Medical Education Departments on Tuesday said that the government has utterly failed to frame any regularization policy for their wellbeing, causing immense sufferings to them.
The paramedic employees said that almost 400 employees are serving the Health and Medical Education Departments as Laboratory/X-ray/Theatre/Anaesthesia technicians /Nurses/Pharmacists etc) of Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Srinagar including Bone & Joint Hospital, C.D. Hospital, SMHS Hospital, G.B. Pant, L.D Hospital, Psychiatry Hospital on Academic Arrangement Basis (SRO-384) since the year 2011.
The government so far failed to frame any regularization policy for the paramedical employees, they said, adding that the posts have not been filled up on permanent basis since 2011 by Health and Medical Education Department as these posts were not referred to SSRB and are being run on adhocism.
The incumbents working on these posts feel job insecurity as the Health and Medical Education Department is not paying any heed in framing policy for regularization of the incumbents, the paramedic employees said, adding that most of these employees who have crossed six years of service, have to be terminated after six years as per SRO but it is by virtue of court directions that their salary is being disbursed despite being in the 7th year without any break.
They said that despite working with zeal and zest and at par with regular employees of associated hospitals of GMC, Srinagar, have no leave and other benefits given.
The employees later appealed government to come clear on the policy to save their future. (KNS)
