SrinagarDirector, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed Monday said physical education not only nurtures physique but also contributes in mental and spiritual growth enabling overall development of the student.
According to the statement issued by YSS media wing, Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed was speaking at the concluding function of 10-day long annual Leadership Training Camp organized by Government College of Physical Education Ganderbal at Youth Hostel in Patnitop.
The camp, which commenced on September 15, saw participation of 70 students.
The Director YS&S said that the holding of such camps will immensely help further cementing of bonds of mutual harmony and brotherhood. He appreciated the trainers especially Principal Dr. Hartej Singh for organising the event in such an outstanding manner.
The Director said that the Government was keen to upgrade the sports infrastructure in the state and the would-be physical educators should do their best while imparting practical knowledge of Games and Sports to the budding players.
During the camp, tracking from Patnitop to Sanasar and Patnitop to Mantali, treasure hunt, crafting, camp activities and camp fire were organized.
Earlier, Principal of the College appreciated the role of Dr Mushtaq, Dr Nazir Ahmad and Rishi Kumar besides other staff members for their whole hearted support in making the camp a memorable experience.
Later, Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed distributed prizes among the position holders.
