SrinagarAijaz Ahmad was the star with the ball as Lubaan Cricket Club thumped Sheikhpora XI by a big margin of 57 runs in their Big Challengers T-20 Super League 2017 fixture played at Shiekhpora Playground on Monday.
In what turned out to be a lopsided tie, Lubaan Cricket Club posted a huge score of 179 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted overs. And, then riding on Aijazs four-wicket haul, Lubaan Cricket Club shot out Sheikhpora XI for 122 inside 18 overs to pocket a big victory. Aijaz Ahmad was declared man of the match for his match winning spell.
The second fixture of the day saw Sultan Cricket Club beat BCC Reds by 52 runs. Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Sultan CC amassed a score of 180 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mudasir was the star with the bat making 43. He then shone with the ball in hand taking a three-fer as BCC Reds were bowled out for 128 in the 19th over. Mudasir walked away with man of the match award for his all-round brilliance.
The tournament is being organised by Sheikh ul Alam Sports Development Association and sponsored by SMC Srinagar, Spring Buds Ompora, JK Tourism, JK Bank and Urban Local Bodies Kashmir.
