Srinagar A man who was hit by a motorbike last week at Solina area of summer capital succumbed at SMHS Hospital today.
As per the family members the deceased namely Abdul Rashid Bhat, he was hit by a motorcycle without registration number on September 12 at Solina Bazar and left critically injured.
They said that the injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital where he was kept in ICU. “After remaining critical for all these days, today he succumbed,” they said.
The driver of the motorcycle soon after hitting Rashid had fled from the spot and was absconding. Police had registered a case under FIR number 51/2017 under sections 279, 337 RPC at Shergari police station and constituted a team to track down the absconding driver.
Meanwhile after several days of searches, the driver of the motorcycle was arrested by the police team. The motorcycle has also been seized. Meanwhile, family members have sought justice in the case.
After the death of the injured man, police today added section 304A to the existing FIR.
