Srinagar The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today visited Hari Singh High Street to review the developmental projects going on in the area.
The Minister was accompanied by DC Srinagar Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Commissioner SMC, Dr Shafqat Khan and other concerned officials.
Visiting the under construction Municipal Shopping Complex, the Minister directed SMC Commissioner to ensure that the ongoing work is carried out in professional manner, besides ensuring the ongoing work should not cause any inconvenience to the neighboring business establishments.
The Minister directed the concerned to work with the proper pace so that the construction of shopping complex is completed in a time bond manner. The complex is getting constructed on 9325 sq ft area at an estimated cost of Rs 7.32 crore.
Considering the request of businessmen of the area the Minister visited the adjacent lane where the shopkeepers apprised him with some of their issues. The Minister assured that Government would consider their genuine issues and would surly extend all possible support.
Bukhari observed that the shopkeepers constitute an integral and legitimate part of the urban retail trade and distribution system for daily necessities of the general public. He said that this section of traders has helped the Government in combating unemployment and poverty and it is duty of the State to protect the right of these micro-entrepreneurs to earn an honest living.
