Addressing the gathering, president Anjuman Shari Shian and senior Hurriyat leader Agha Syed Hassan castigated the Burmese government which desperately failed to stop killing of Rohingya muslims.
He called on Muslim world to stand united and help oppresed people.
“Unity of Muslim nations would pave the way towards progress and prosperity,” he added.

Shia clerk also appealed UN, OIC, and other Muslims countries to play a leading role in freeing Rohingya Muslims from tyranny.
While castigating the NIA raids in different parts of Kashmir and on his residence, Agha Hassan said they (NIA) want to suppress genuine voice of Kashmiris.
“If NIA wanted to investigate Hawala funding, they should have easily checked my bank accounts, but instead they searched my residence for 10 hours,” he added
“Muslim countries are responsible for the plight of Rohingya as they are not taking interest in their problems,” said Irfan Ali Najar a protester.

While condemning the ‘criminal silence’ of Nobel laureate and de facto leader of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi, a group of protesting youth said, “We don’t understand why world has turned a blind eye towards the plight of Rohigya Muslims who are being killed mercilessly.”
Slogans like ‘we are with Muslims of Burma, we want freedom, freedom is our right, stop state terrorism’ reverberated during the protests.
Joint Resistance leadership had called on upon people to observe September 8 as ‘solidarity day’ with opressed Muslims of Myanmar.
Meanwhile in response to Agha Hassan’s call, a complete shutdown was observed in Budgam against NIA raid on his residence on Thursday and alleged misbehaviour with him.
