TralThe people of Lurow Jagir and Seer Jagir Tral on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the rising fares and lack of proper transport facilities in the area.
The protesters while chanting slogans against transport authorities, blocked Tral-Satoora road for hours.
According to them, they face immense problems since fare was hiked by the government , sometime back.
The protesters blamed that despite giving rate according to schedule given by Sub district authorities , the sumo drivers always give tough time to them by refusing to carry the passengers including students of the said villages.
While talking to Kashmir Observer, The people requested the higher authorities to personally intervene into the matter as early as possible so that people there will not suffer more in future.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral, Mr Riyaz Ahmad Malik, assured that after meeting with ARTO and other officials , the problem will be redressed soon.
