Supreme Court verdict holding Triple Talaq unconstitutional was along expected lines with even those arguing in favour of continuing in name of religious practice confessing the system as highly improper. It was failure of religious clerics not taking steps to do away with the inhuman anti-women practice, that the matter reached to Supreme Court.
Fundamentalists favouring Triple Talaq in name of religious practice should now better stop favouring the inhuman practice firstly because the system has already been banned in 22 Islamic states including Pakistan and Bangladesh which earlier were part of undivided India. Secondly and more importantly that now such elements with change of time should join main streamline by rising above narrow religious mindset.
