SrinagarA week long district level sports festival organised by Bandipora Police began Wednesday at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium Bandipora, a press release from Jammu Kashmir Polices media cell said.
According to the statement, the festival was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Ganai.
Various games including Volleyball, Kabbadi, Rugby, Wushu, Kick Boxing and Tug of War will be played during course of next seven days. On the first day of the festival, Kabbadi, Volleyball, Rugby were played.
The Kabbadi match was played between JKP and Tarkpora teams which was won by the former. Chak Rishipora beat JKP in volleyball match. Al Sports emerged winners against Rugby Warriors in a Rugby match.
In Wushu and Kick Boxing, the participants were categorized in Sub Junior, Junior and Senior categories. More than 200 participants took part in both the games.
Among others DySP Hqrs Mir Murtaza, DySP DAR Sheikh Tahir, Activity In-charge Youth Service and Sports Khurshid Shaheen and Chairman Ali Sports Academy Faisal Ali were present.
