PulwamaChief Minsters grievance cell has taken cognizance of news report about Pulwama District Hospital that appeared in the Kashmir Observer on Wednesday.
KO had reported that five people bitten by dogs were denied anti rabies vaccines at District Hospital Pulwama on Monday on the pretext of the non availability of the vaccines there. The victims were forced to purchase the said vaccines from the market at exorbitant rates.
Medical superintendent Pulwama Dr. Ab Rashid Parra had admitted the lapse. He had told Kashmir Observer: Doctors had prescribed the vaccine to some of the dog bite victims and the same were available in the hospital, adding the Pharmacists and nursing orderly who could have provided the medicine to the needy had left the hospital early.
The Cell directed the Hospital authorities to intervene immediately and furnish a report explaining the cause of the negligence.
The online grievance team tweeted: “We have taken up the issue with complaint number 71426 on http://jkgrievance.nic.in”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ab Rashid Parra on Wednesday assured that the money will be returned to the victims and appealed them to approach his office.
