SrinagarSuspected militants on Sunday evening shot dead a person, owner of a local cable network in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official told GNS that Hilal Ahmad Malik R/O Malik Mohalla, Shopian was shot at by the gunmen near his residence at around 8:05 pm.
Malik was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions, but succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, he said.
Meanwhile, army, police and CRPF cordoned the area and launched the hunt to nab the attackers. No one has been arrested when this report was filed.
This is third shooting incident in south Kashmir by unknown gunmen in past 24 hours.
Earlier, a bullet riddled body of a teenage boy was recovered from an orchard at Dhobipora in Shopian on Sunday.
Gowhar Ahmad Dar was found killed in a orchard at around 12 noon, a police official said adding the deceased had been shot in the head.
