SrinagarChief Secretary, B B Vyas Wednesday reviewed the progress of land acquisition proceedings for construction of 4 lane ring road/by pass around Srinagar and Jammu cities. The project is being taken up by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
Commissioner Secretary, PW (R&B) Department, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, and concerned officers attended the meeting. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Pulwama, Samba and Jammu participated via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary received brief from both the Divisional Commissioners and concerned DCs in regard to the district wise status of the land acquisition proceedings, which in most cases are in final stages of award.
Chief Secretary urged completion of the entire process in all districts by the end of September, 2017, so that land is handed over to NHAI for start of the work in both the cities.
Progress on the project will again be reviewed in September, 2017, by the Chief Secretary.
