Srinagar: National Conference (NC) which used to blame Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of trading states special position for power have this time a change of heart with party terming Chief Minister Mehbooba Muftis meeting with NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and former chief minister Omar Abdullah as realization of mistakes.
Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday held a meeting with NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and NC Working President Omar Abdullah to find ways to protect Article 35-A.
NC General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar while referring to the yesterday meeting of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with Dr Farooq and his son, said that it is good if anybody realizes his or her mistake.
He said that the opposition has taken step to play its role to protect the Article 35-A but the ball is in the court of Mehbooba led regime.
She must take steps to protect the Article 35-A, he said.
We always extended our support to safeguard the JKs special status and the aspirations of people. After the 2014 elections, NC leaders pitched for the joint alliance to keep BJP, whose intentions over JKs special status are not good, away, he said, adding that NC will always remain on the forefront to play its role over securing the JKs special position.
He said that the alliance partner of the incumbent regime, BJP doesnt have good intentions over the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
BJPs agenda is to erode Article 370. They implemented Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the state to dilute the special status of JK and now are mulling to scrap Article 35-A, he said. (KNS)
