Srinagar: A police man Monday foiled a weapon snatching attempt when three unknown persons tried to seize an assault rifle from a bank guard in Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam district.
Three persons attempted to snatch a rifle from a J&K Bank guard in Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam district on Monday afternoon.
The policeman deployed their foiled their attempt.

The trio managed to escape from the spot but were caught in a CCTV footage. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
Pertinently, dozens of weapon snatching cases have occurred in south and central Kashmir since year 2015 at police stations, posts, public places and banks. The attempts are mainly carried out by militants or wanna-be militants. In many cases, the perpetrators were held on the spot by forces.
