SrinagarStudents here at Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar staged a pro-freedom protest after the news about the death of LeT militant Abid Hamid Mir of Hajin spread in the College.
Abid, a resident of Hajin area of North Kashmirs Bandipora district was the student of the college and was on rolls in second year of B.Com.
Reports said that scores of students assembled in College premises and raised pro-freedom slogans while marching inside the college.
Reports said that scores of students later tried to move out of the college. However, a posse of police stationed outside the college intercepted them, triggering clashes.
Later, sources said, the college administration intervened and pacified the protesting students.
Reports said that due to student protest, the class work in the College was affected. (CNS)
