SrinagarMinister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri Monday asked the officers to maintain proper inventory of all the assets of the Custodian department and their classification for optimal use.
The Minister was speaking at a high level review meeting of Custodian Department here. The meeting was attended by Custodian General J&K Ajaz Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone, Custodian Kashmir Bashir Ahmed Mir and Tehsildars of Srinagar District.
The Minister stressed upon the officers to form a join team of Revenue and custodian officials for demarcation and safeguarding of assets in their respective areas. Mr Veeri also impressed on the officials to form a timeline for periodical assessment of custodian assets in the state.
He also called upon the officials to adopt pro-active approach to safeguard custodian properties in the State and emphasized for regular assessment of the evacuee property.
He also asked for details about date of agreement, rent payment status and agreement status. The Minister said that it is important to update the status of each custodian property regularly.
While highlighting the role of the department, Minister said that the department should not only safeguard its assets properly but should come out with innovative ideas for revenue generation out of these assets. “The land at the prime locations can be used for maximum benefit of the department,” he said.
The Minister also stressed on ensuring transparency and accountability in the functioning of the department.
