SrinagarPolice have arrested four sympathizers of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
Divulging the information, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Munir Ahmed Khan said that they had received information that some sympathizers of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba have been smuggling weapons for militants from North to South Kashmir.
Few days back, we intercepted a vehicle, however, the driver and the militant supports on board managed to flee from the spot. Next day we launched search operation in an area, and arrested four Over Ground Workers. We have received an AK-47 magazine from their possession. Investigation has been set into motion and more arrests are expected, Khan said.
He added that there are no inroads of militants in Srinagar city. (CNS)
