SrinagarAther Bakhshi of BSc 4th semester emerged as the winner of Sri Pratap Annual College Road Race on Saturday.
The race, according to the organizers statement, began from Nehru Park to Nishat Garden.
The run was flagged-off at 6:00 am by the college Principal Professor (Dr) Parveen Pandit from the Nehru Park along the Boulevard road on the banks of Dal Lake. Around 95 college students participated in the race.
Bakshi was in the lead from the word go and making his intentions clear to steer past this opponents ever so comfortably to pocket the title. Athar Palla of BSc 1st semester got the silver with Awayaz Ahmad of B.Sc. 1st semester having to contend with the third spot.
Professor (Dr) Parveen Pandit stressed upon the students to take part in sports activities for their overall personality development. She also assured full support to the Sports Board for organizing intra and inter-College sports events.
The Convenor Sports Board, Dr Mohammad Farooq Rather and Dr Shahi Jehan Wani, Secretary Faculty Council also spoke on the occasion.
