SrinagarThe Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today announced that all the government educational institution and educational offices will be provided with reliable internet facility soon.
All the High and Higher Secondary Schools, DIETs, SIEs, offices of ZEOs and CEOs will be equipped with reliable internet facility within a short span of time, Bukhari said.
In the age of modern internet technology, the Minister said, there is a lot of learning opportunities on internet and the government of Jammu and Kashmir wants to provide students the best learning opportunity in their respective schools.
He made this announcement during a meeting with Ms Sandhiya Gupta a representative of South Asia office of Tony Blair Institute who had called on the Minister at his private office at Sheikhbagh. The meeting was attended by secretary education Farooq Ahmad Shah, director school education Kashmir Dr. G.N Itoo and joint director school education Kashmir.
The meeting discussed certain issues in connection with the training program for teachers that is being carried by Tony Blair Institute for the teachers in the Valley.
Ms Gupta said that there was a need of more support from Education Ministry to make these training programs more successful. She observed there is a need to provide teachers with a dependable access to internet.
She praised the teachers participating in the training programmes organized by the school education department in collaboration with her Institute and said that they are motivate and are able to understand the program perfectly.
After giving the patient hearing, the Minister said that all the necessary support will be provided for the betterment of the teachers in general and education system in particular in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bukhari said that the department of school education is chalking out a comprehensive plan to revamp the educational sector in Jammu and Kashmir. Steps are being taken to streamline and improve the quality of education being imparted in government schools by way of providing requisite infrastructure, faculty and the monitoring mechanism, Bukhari observed.
He appreciated the efforts and interest shown by the Tony Blair Institute by agreeing for collaboration for imparting training to the teachers in Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that such joint ventures shall continue in future.
To mention, Tony Blair Institute provide practical support to counter religious conflict and extremism in order to promote open-minded and stable societies.
