Srinagar: Picks from national and international cinema will be shown during the six-day long film festival being held at Tagore Hall here from July 1.
The festival is being organised by filmmakers, producers under the title of Kashmir World Film Festival where at least 40 films will be shown to the film lovers. The festival will commence on July 1 and conclude on July 5.
Mushtaq Ali Khan, a noted filmmaker said that the aim of the festival is to show the aspiring filmmakers of the state different techniques and nuances of film making.
Khan said that it is regrettable that the filmmakers in the state are not promoted, respected and facilitated by the government.
When filmmakers or actors from outside the state arrive in the valley, they are given all state facilities and necessary services. But the filmmakers and actors of the state are being ignored, he said. –
