SrinagarJammu and Kashmir football Wednesday received a major boost with five young players managing to pocket contracts with two premier clubs of Kolkata. Four of them will ply their trade for one of the oldest football clubs of India- Mohammedan Sporting club Kolkatta- this season while Toligunj Football Club, Kolkatta will have services of Jammu based Vinay Kumar.
J&K has had a lean patch in producing top class players after Mehraj Ud Din Wadoo and Ishfaq Ahmad ruled the roost in Indian domestic circuit, but latest development should do world of good for growth and impact of the sport in the state.
All five players belong to Kashmirs first ever participant in the I-League: Lone Star Kashmir Football Club. Akif Reshi of Anantnag and Ifham Tariq from Srinagar are two Kashmir based signings for Mohammedan Sporting Club Kolkata while Arun and Harpreet will join their LSKFC teammates from Jammu.
Hilal Rasool Parray coach of Kashmir FC, the man behind these players rise, has termed the development as a big boost for J&K football.
It is big thing as these youngsters will learn new things by playing in such a tough league. Five players to playing together in Kolkatta league will definitely help J&K football, Parray was quoted as saying by a local sports website.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Football Association has congratulated players for their Kolkata gig and hailed LSKFC and their coach for promoting football in the state.
It is indeed result of hard work of all these players and able and latest coaching imparted by Head Coach Hilal Rasool Parray and ample exposure of Lone Star Kashmir Football Club Srinagar in the I-League 2nd Division.
