SrinagarA month long Ramazan Special Sufi and Qawaali events organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages concluded at Tagore Hall today.
A poetry recitation programme was held on the concluding day of the event in which poets from across the valley presented their poetry in different languages.
A female singer performed Na’at,-e-Hamud and devotional poetry which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Aziz Hajini said that the aim of the programme was to provide platform to the budding artists and to exploit their talent, adding that for the purpose the Academy in collaboration with School Education Department organized Qawalli program educational institutions.
During the session around 300 artists including students from different schools of Valley participated in the Ramazan special series.
Chairperson of State Women’s Commission, Nayeema Mehjoor, presided over the function, besides Shafiqa Parveen, Rukssana Jabeen, Shabnum Ashai and Prof. Naseem Ashai also present on the occasion.
