GanderbalNatural Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), SDRF, NDRF in co-ordination with District Administration Ganderbal on Saturday conducted mock drills at Baltal base camps for Amarnath ji yatra, to assess the preparedness of the agency to meet any eventuality.
Mock drills were conducted at Baltal in presence of members from the NDMA, SDRF, District Police, Health Department, Fire and Emergency Service, and specialists to check the preparedness for the ensuing Amarnath ji Yatra. Worst case scenarios in natural disasters were given to the quick response teams to gauge their preparedness.
A detailed review of the drills was carried out at a meeting later on by Senior Specialist NDMA, Major Naik.
The meetings were attended by members of District Police, NDMA, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Service, and Health Department
The annual Amarnath ji Yatra to cave shrine is scheduled to begin from June 29.
