Srinagar: At least one policeman was killed and another wounded, in a militant attack at high security Hyderpora, in the city outskirts on Thursday night.
A police official said that militants attacked a patrol party of police near J&K Bank in Hyderpora, resulting into injuries to two policemen.
The injured, he said, were shifted to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar for treatment, where according to an unconfirmed report one of the critically wounded policeman succumbed to his injuries.
Hyderpora is situated on highly guarded Airport Road of the city and is also close to Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters.
