TralThe devastating hailstorms once again left behind a trail of destruction, leveling crops ,vegetables and destroying fruits on Thursday evening in different areas of South Kashmirs Tral Sub division.
Local witnesses while talking on phone said Kashmir Observer that the hailstorm created havoc in maximum areas of town on this evening , leaving behind a trail of destruction in Pastuna , Panner Jagir, Kangloora , Seer , Doodmarg , Bhatnoor , Gulshanpora , Lurgam , Koil , Rathsuna , Karmulla , Satoora and other areas of Tral by destroying standing crops, vegetables and fruits there.
“Our crops and fruits are completely destroyed by devastating hailstorm today. We have lost everything in our fields and orchards now due to back to back hailstorms ” said a resident of Kangloora area while talking to Kashmir Observer over Phone.
According to the eye witnessed, the hailstorm lasted for about 15 minutes, causing damage in several villages of south Kashmirs Tral Sub district.
The victims have requested authorities to immediately assess the quantum of loss caused to the crops and fruits in the area and demanded relief from the government.
Government should assess the damages. Our agricultural production has been badly hit due to frequent hailstorms from last few weeks , said a farmer of a hailstorm-hit village of the Tral sub district.
Reports of hailstorm came from several other villages of the sub district including the main town as well.
