SrinagarA family from Srinagar Tuesday alleged that Congress politician Tariq Hamid Karra has been trying to grab their land comprising over 33 kanals at Shivpora locality of the city.
Wani family from Shivpora Srinagar emerged here in Press Enclave Srinagar and demanded that Karra should be held answerable on how he has allegedly illegally occupied more than a hundred kanals of evacuee property land of the Custodian Department worth almost a hundred crores at current market prices at Shivpora.
The family led by GM Wani told CNS that despite occupying custodian land, the influential politician has been using influence to grab their land as well. He is terrorizing us and even the other day, his men cut the trees and destroyed vegetable crop on this land.
The family demanded an elaborate investigation into the matter. They said that after facing threats and intimidated by his muscular men, they approached police station Ram Munshi Bagh where an FIR vide number 56/2017 stands registered against him.
They said that Tariq Hamid Karra has already occupied a huge tract of Custodian Land at Shivpora which he claims belongs to his ancestors. He is neither a proclaimed Manager of the said Evacuee Property, nor a proven or adjudged direct legal heir, they said and appealed higher authorities to stop Karra from grabbing their ancestral land.
We also appeal to police to initiate action against those who on the behest of Tariq Hamid Karra damage crops and trees on our land, they said and threatened to hit roads against Karra if he doesnt stop taking law in his own hands. (CNS)
