TralSouth Kashmirs most populated town , Tral is facing a power crisis from last few days, leaving people of hundrends of villages in the state of uncertainty.
Reports said that whole town is the worst-hit as people from di fferent areas said the unscheduled power cuts have grown severe for the past few days , giving tough time to people, especially during morning and evening hours in this holy month of Ramazan.
From past many days locals from different areas have informed Kashmir Observer that Power Development Department is not only resorting to unscheduled cuts but did not at all bother to supply electricity for days together. They said that despite repeated requests to concerned officials , the situation has not improved so far. The outages have become a major concern for the people. Both the town and villages are facing the crisis.
PDD doesnt follow any power curtailment schedule. They resort to power cuts as per their wishes , said a group of residents from Nahir Tral.
Despite paying electricity bills on time every month , PDD has failed to ensure adequate power supply , said Mushtaq Ahmad a shopkeeper in Tral.
Locals said that the non-availability of electricity in the areas like Tral , Nahir, Khasipora , Kangloora , Chatrogam , Diver , Monghama, Batagund, Nagbal , Mandoora , Panner , Saimoh , Rathsuna , Amirabad, Gamraj, Dobhiwan and almost all other places have been irking people. People while talking to Kashmir Observer requested higher ups to personally look into the matter as early as possible.
Assistant Executive Engineer PDD, Tral, said that “power curtailment in the town will remain continue for next few days.”
