Srinagar: National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah on Thursday said the brave, resilient women of the State have borne the brunt of turmoil, uncertainty and instability in the State and strived against all odds to be an integral part of the States movement towards prosperity and peace.
Addressing a Womens Convention organized by National Conference Womens Wing at Party Head Office Nawa-e-Subha in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah said the partys women activists had always played a pivotal role in strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
Our mothers, sisters and daughters have shown exemplary fortitude and resilience in striving for the rights of our State and its people. They have borne the brunt of turmoil in the State and despite unimaginable circumstances, they have never hesitated to stand up and be counted. In empowering our women and ensuring they are heard, respected and given due representation, we will be shaping a bright future for our State, the NC Working President said while addressing the Womens Wing Convention.
The National Conference Working President, while commending the Partys Womens Wing Provincial President Shamima Firdous and other office bearers lauded the contribution of the Womens Wing in ensuring the success of various party programs and outreach initiatives that are underway.
