SrinagarChief Secretary, B B Vyas Thursday reviewed the progress of the 330-MW Kishanganga Power project, being constructed in Gurez area of Bandipora district.
Chief Secretary reviewed the implementation of Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Plan of the Project Affected families (PAFs and the status of demolition of structures and tree felling in the submergence area.
Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora furnished the details of the implementation of the R&R Plan.
The NHPC authorities informed that the dam site works are in progress as per the approved schedule besides a monitoring team has also been constituted to monitor the progress.
The 330MW Kishanganga HEP envisages diversion of river Kishanganga from Gurez valley into an underground powerhouse with 3 units of 110MW each and discharging the tail water in Wullar Lake.
Regarding treatment of Madhumati and Bonar Nallah to improve its discharge capacity and to protect the Nallah boundaries against high discharge, Chief Secretary asked Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Department to complete the various protection works at critical stretches as per the fixed timelines and complete the process by 30th November, 2017 positively.
Chief Secretary also reviewed the progress of Kishanganga-Amargarh-Wagoora Transmission line, with instructions to Deputy Commissioners of Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama to complete the process of acquisition of land for setting up of towers and handing it over to the NHPC.
