Srinagar: Joint Resistance leadership Wednesday termed CASO (cordon and search operations) launched by the Indian state forces against the people of Kashmir a menace.
The troika of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said in a press statement, that these operations continuing even in the holy month of Ramazan have resulted in the killing of scores of young boys and injuring of hundreds so far. This they said reflects the level of hostility by the Indian state towards the people of Kashmir, especially the youth and students.
Leadership said the youth here are being punished in every way for seeking their right to decide their destiny as guaranteed by the UN resolutions and the Indian leadership.
Joint leadership said, as a result of this operation another cold blooded murder of a budding 19 year old student from Shopian Degree College Adil Ahmed Magray of Ganapora Shopian was committed by the Indian forces who have not only been given a free hand to kill Kashmiris, but are even encouraged and awarded for their varying “acts of valor” in keeping Kashmiris subjugated.
What is worse is that after committing such crimes the shameless and soulless local quislings back them up (Forces) by distorting facts and spreading lies through their agencies and blocking facts and information about the incident from reaching people and the outside world by immediately banning internet services and putting other forms of gags in place, they said.
Calling for a day long strike on Friday, leaders said: Peaceful protests will also be held against the Indian electronic medias propaganda war against the people of Kashmir and the prejudices and biases against Kashmiris being promoted by them.
