SrinagarThe government has today asked all the administrative secretaries and Public Authorities of the state to ensure effective implementation of the RTI Act 2009 by designating the PIOs at earliest and notify their names in public domain.
In an order issued today it has been impressed upon all the administrative Secretaries and Public Authorities of the State to ensure effective implementation of the provisions of Section 5(1) and 5(2) of Right to Information Act, 2009 by appointing PIOs and FAAs of an appropriate seniority wherever it has not been done or where no substitutes have been designated after the transfer or retirement of the existing PIOs and FAAs.
The GAD order further impressed upon all the concerned officials to notify the names of the PIOs and FAAs in the public domain through the websites of the respective departments for the convenience of the information seekers.
The order has been issued after it was observed that PIOs and FAAs have not been designated in various departments and have not been notified and placed in the public domain through the websites of the respective departments.
