SRINAGAR: The visiting delegation of journalists and local media fraternity appreciated the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) for making creditable arrangements for the smooth and timely coverage of the 14th GST Council meeting which concluded at SKICC here today.
The journalists complemented the efforts of DIPR for ensuring seamless coverage of the three-day long mega event which was chaired by Union Finance Minister Mr Arun Jaitley and attended by Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries from 30 states and Union Territories across the country.
The DIPR had established a state-of-the-art Media Centre, with high-speed internet connectivity, computers and other paraphernalia, at Centaur Lake View Hotel, located adjacent to the venue of the GST meeting.
A large number of the visiting and local journalists used the Media Centre, which was operational round-the-clock, for filing stories on GST Council meeting. The Department also organized two press conferences during the proceedings of the event.
Meanwhile, the Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu has thanked the media for taking keen interest in the event and ensuring its widest possible coverage.
